PEI has created a temporary Tariff Impact Relief Fund providing conditionally non-repayable grants covering up to 50% of eligible project costs, to a maximum of $50,000. It is expected to remain open until March 31, 2027, subject to available funding. Applications are assessed first-come, first-served.
Eligible PEI businesses must demonstrate significant economic effects from U.S. tariffs, Canadian counter-tariffs or related trade disruption. Particularly relevant eligible activities include new export-market entry, new customers and supply chains, interprovincial market development, technology adoption, automation, digitization and AI, plus productivity-enhancing equipment and systems.
A PEI manufacturer could potentially use the program for market diversification, digitalization, AI/automation or technology intended to improve productivity and market access.
